Characteristic
Apricot seed is well absorbed oil with a light structure, regenerates, smoothes, and soothes. Apricot seed oil is particularly suitable for dry and sensitive skin. In cosmetic products, face and body care or massage preparations can be Apricot oil used to dilute heavier oils.
Physical properties
A light yellow oily liquid which has almost no aroma. Relative density at +20° C: approx. 0.917 g per cm3.
Basic constituent parts
Unsaturated fatty acids – the main ingredients are oleic acid (C 18:1) at approximately 66%, linoleic acid (C 18:2) at approximately 25%, and palmitic acid (C 16:0) at approximately 5%. Also contains vitamins A and E and lecithin.
Properties
A relatively thin oil. Taken well by the skin. Similar to almond oil in terms of its properties.
Use
Suitable in massage preparations thanks to its good „slipperiness”. Taken well by all types of skin and therefore added to face creams and oils, as well as body preparations.
Contraindications
There is the possibility of individual intolerance to this vegetable oil.
